Office Manager

Magnomatics is a high technology spin-out company from the University of Sheffield developing advanced electric motors. The Company is now in its 6th year and has contracts with a number of multi-national and government clients.

A position has arisen for a highly organised Office Manager to provide maternity cover, leading to a future permanent job share position. You should have experience in a relevant role and will ideally be educated to degree level. You will possess excellent computing skills in MS Office and should have bookkeeping experience using Sage 50 or a similar accounting package.

The role will include the following aspects:
• Acting as a PA to the directors
• Maintaining purchase ledger and bank reconciliation of credit card receipts
• Managing an Office Assistant
• Maintaining filing & record systems
• Organising shipping, including export paperwork
• Assisting with the induction of new staff
• Arranging travel

Salary: GBP 17,000 – 24,000 p.a. pro rata

Experience Required: 5+ years
Education Required: Bachelor's degree preferred
Job Type: Maternity cover leading to permanent job share
Job Status: Full time, or four days per week

Design

Magnomatics is a high technology company that designs and manufactures revolutionary magnetic transmission systems and advanced electric motors and generators. It has a focus on low carbon sectors and is experiencing strong growth with development contracts with many blue-chip multinational clients, requiring further expansion of its development team.

Electrical/Electromagnetic Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced electrical machine design engineer. The ideal candidate will have a PhD and relevant industrial experience in the design and development of a range of machine types, in particular permanent magnet motors and generators. They will be expert in the use of FE design tools, ideally Vector Fields’ Opera. An excellent benefit and remuneration package will be offered to the appropriate individuals.

Mechanical Design Engineer

A position has now arisen for a mechanical design engineer to assist in the design of rotating electrical machines. You will have a degree in mechanical engineering and ideally relevant experience in toolmaking and drawing office practices together with the design of similar components and assemblies. You should be highly competent in Solidworks, or a similar CAD package will be considered if you have strong relevant experience. The position will entail supporting projects through from conceptual design to detailed drawings for manufacture. Experience of classic stress analysis techniques and knowledge of FEA analysis is an advantage. An excellent benefit and remuneration package will be offered to the appropriate individuals.
