In 2016 Andy joined Magnomatics from Orchid Orthopedic Solutions bringing with him a wealth of Project Management experience from many years working in the Engineering industry.
Andy manages a number of development and production projects for the design, build and test of Magnomatics patented magnetically geared PDD machines. These projects are funded either from UK or European agencies or from customer commercial contracts.
The projects demand a high level of multi-disciplinary skills including developing specifications through to managing design teams and consortia, procurement of components, quality assurance and business development.
Andy's role is underpinned by his extensive technical experience in investment casting engineering and machining of aerospace, industrial gas turbine and medical implant device products having being a senior NPD Engineer for 13 years in these fields.
Technical customer liaison and knowledge of supply chain built up through many years of managing end to end medical device manufacture support his role at Magnomatics, helping to ensure on time delivery and achievement of project deliverables.
Prior to his engineering development and project management roles, Andy accrued 9 years experience in Radiology covering Heavy Industrial, Medical, Aero, IGT and Automotive investment cast products, being qualified to CSWIP Rad 3.5a and RR Level 2b as an inspector.
Project Management: PRINCE 2 , i2i Management Training Scheme, Coaching Skills and Sigma Kaizen Greenbelt.
Engineering: HNC in Engineering (Materials)
If Andy isn't skiing somewhere in the mountains, he'll be working on cars or undertaking a new DIY project and with his practical engineering skills sometimes takes an active role in the prototype build, supporting the manufacturing team at Magnomatics, if the project needs extra resource to achieve on time completion.
