Dave Latimer
Chief Executive Officer
Dave joined Magnomatics in 2013 in a business development role and became CEO in 2015. Before Magnomatics, Dave was CEO of EVO Electric, a spin-out company from Imperial College. Under Dave’s leadership, EVO gained a strong position in the electric and hybrid vehicle sector, leading to a joint venture with GKN Driveline in 2011. Dave has worked in a range markets including aerospace, automotive, industrial power, water, nuclear and oil & gas.

Stuart Calverley
Chief Engineer
Stuart joined Magnomatics in 2008 after working for 7 years within the Electronic and Electrical Engineering department at the University of Sheffield. Stuart has worked on a wide range of products in the fields including automotive turbo-generators, electromagnetic valve actuators for healthcare and he built the first magnetic gear system prior to the formation of Magnomatics. Stuart currently heads the engineering team at Magnomatics.

David Powell
Principal Engineer
David joined Magnomatics in 2008 from his post as Programme Manager of the Rolls Royce UTC in Advanced Electrical Machines & Drives at the University of Sheffield, where he was instrumental in the aerospace and marine sectors. David has a number of international patents granted whilst being involved in European and UK government funded projects. He has been principal grant holder and manager of a number of industry funded projects.

Gboyega Oshin
Programme Manager
In 2013, Gboyega joined Magnomatics from Eminox Ltd and brings in 17 years of project management experience within the automotive industry where he worked extensively in the design, development and production of automotive exhaust and emission control systems. He has also worked as a lecturer on CAD and CAE at the University of Wolverhampton.

Jeff Birchall
Principal Engineer
In 2016 Andy joined Magnomatics from Orchid Orthopedic Solutions and brings a wealth of Project Management experience from many years working in the Engineering industry. Prior to commencing with the company, he worked for 13 years in the Medical Implant manufacturing sector as a Programme and Project Manager with Doncasters Medical Technologies then Sandvik Medical Solutions; responsible for complex End-to-End projects.
Jeff joined Magnomatics in 2010 after graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Cambridge. Jeff has since become a Principal Engineer within the Magnomatics team and is joint inventor of MAGSPLIT 2 and other related technologies in the field of magnetic gears. Jeff enjoys system engineering, optimisation and design thinking for complex machines and problems across a wide range of industries and applications.
